Thus far I've listened to each Riyria and Legends book on Audible and I'm wondering if my experience might be improved by reading them as well. I figured based on the end of Riyria and his portrayal in Myth and the start of Swords I would just hate him throughout but as of now the action seems to be outside of his control, contrary to his portrayal through Riyria.Īll in all loving how Myth and Swords flush out the Riyria books which are some of my favorites books. Interesting how sympathetic I felt towards the prince by the end of the book. I didn't think I'd find characters to replace Royce or Hadrien in these books but Suri has me hooked. I love the path that Suri is taking in the Art, and her character as a whole. The action in the cave was just so good I didn't want to leave. This book seemed much more focused on flushing out characters with some overarching plot development mixed in.Īs with the Riyria books, as I got later on in the story I became more frustrated to leave the action in the cave to return to the other stories - particularly the prince's story. I don't think I'd rank it above Age of Myth but given another listen it might grow on me more.
